This beautiful and highly collectible Caterham Seven Sprint 60th Anniversary Edition was created to celebrate 60 years of the iconic Seven and pays homage to the simplicity, charm and character of the original Lotus Seven models of the 1950s and 1960s.
Finished in the wonderfully period-correct Misty Blue, the Sprint perfectly captures the spirit of British sports car motoring from a bygone era. With its grey powder-coated chassis, cream-painted steel wheels, chrome hubcaps, flared front wings and carefully chosen retro detailing, it is a car that attracts attention and admiration wherever it goes.
True to Caterham's philosophy, the Sprint combines an exceptionally lightweight chassis weighing less than 500kg with a lively 660cc turbocharged Suzuki engine producing 80bhp. The result is a remarkably engaging driving experience, delivering impressive performance, agile handling and huge amounts of enjoyment without requiring enormous power or intimidating running costs.
The engine is positioned well back within the chassis, contributing to the superb balance and responsiveness for which Caterham has long been renowned. Combined with a precise five-speed manual gearbox and direct, unfiltered steering, the Sprint delivers the sort of connected driving experience that has become increasingly rare in modern cars.
Open the cockpit and the retro theme continues. Beautiful hand-stitched red leather seats, a matching red dashboard, traditional Smiths instruments with chrome bezels, a Moto-Lita wood-rim steering wheel and polished aluminium detailing create an atmosphere that feels wonderfully authentic and perfectly suited to the character of the car.
More than simply a special edition, the Sprint was built in extremely limited numbers, with just 60 examples produced worldwide. As a result, it represents not only a delightful driver's car but also an important and highly collectible part of Caterham's history.
